Nikki Wall: Loving Eats

Mission Log 2
1

Loving Eats addresses the problem of #foodinsecurity through partnering with local restaurants. In Mission Log 2, Nikki Wall addresses the need for #socialregeneration in our land regeneration movements. Growing up dumpster-diving as a child, Nikki was recruited into ecological activism movements as a teen, and shares her path from stealing to survive to serving in order to thrive.

Steve and Nikki share about what it's like to grow up in religiously fundamentalist backgrounds, relate to ways in which spiritual ideals can get coopted for extractive means, and relate about a spirituality that incorporate all of life as a fractal of all that is. They talk about circular economies, bonobos, and matriarchal leadership, and why cooperating shoulder to shoulder tends to be much more resilient than a leadership hierarchy... how can we end the Death-Spiral? and why "THE SYSTEM IS DOWN!"

Every year, the Buckminster Fuller Institute hosts a dynamic event called Trimtab Space Camp, and each event encourages participants to join or host a Mission, the collaborative learning component of this 8-week online event. This year's Space Camp: Towards Climate Stabilization hosted 20 Missions with over 150 participants. At the end of the eight-week journey, crew-members from each Mission have 5 minutes to share their results with the group and the wider BFI community of over 100,000 people.

The Spaceship Earth Mission Log project will be interviewing leaders from each of the 20 Missions over the next 8 weeks beyond the close of this Space Camp.
